Meditation (2023)

In a surreal painting called “Meditation,” the viewer encounters a mosaic of fragments, each of which represents a separate riddle or symbol. In the center of the picture stands a yogi in a deep meditation pose, his figure radiating calm and harmony. Beneath his meditative contemplation is a human skull, which would seem to hint at a philosophical reflection on death and peace through meditation. In the upper left corner of the painting there is a woman removing her white panties, which may symbolize liberation from burdensome bonds and finding herself in a state of complete integrity and freedom. While in the upper right corner stands out a female figure in a bright orange dress and high purple boots, standing against the backdrop of a night city with its yellow lights. This creates a contrast between the inner world of meditation and the outer world of bustle and excitement, between the inner and the outer. In the lower left corner of the picture sits a girl in a red dress, painting a tree. Her prayer-like pose, as well as the detail of her panties visible between her legs, may suggest that she is creating something new, embodying her inner vision in material form. This can be a metaphor for creativity and the process of self-expression. In the lower right corner of the picture there is a naked girl in a white peignoir, pulled down panties and high heels. Its existence, presented in this form, may refer to sexuality and sensuality, which may accompany or be adjacent to the state of meditation. All these elements come together to create an image of a meditative state that blends philosophy, creativity, sexuality and inner peace into one mystical and enigmatic image.
